Supporting Fire Prevention Day at the Minnesota State Fair
Allegis is proud to sponsor a day of hands-on safety education at the Minnesota State Fair.
The best systems work because every part has a role.
That is true for fire prevention. It depends on people, preparation, equipment, and practical knowledge working together before an emergency happens.
Fire prevention starts with knowing how to reduce everyday hazards, escape safely, use a fire extinguisher, and prepare a household for the unexpected.
That is why Allegis is proud to support Governor's Fire Prevention Day at the 2026 Minnesota State Fair on Friday, August 28. This year, Allegis is sponsoring the red fire helmets given to kids during the event.
Presented by the Governor's Council on Fire Prevention and Control, the annual event brings fire-service organizations and public-safety educators together with fairgoers for demonstrations and hands-on learning. Activities are planned across Dan Patch Park, the North End, and DNR Park.
Families can learn about fire-safe behavior, home escape, extinguisher use, and emergency preparedness while exploring developments in firefighting equipment and burn treatment. The familiar red helmets give kids a simple way to take the day's safety message with them. The State Fair's current program also includes vehicle-extraction demonstrations.
Why This Day Matters to Allegis?
Emergency crews depend on many systems working predictably in demanding conditions. Allegis is proud when the access hardware we supply becomes part of a vehicle that helps crews reach equipment, operate compartments and drawers, secure gear, and service the vehicle. That contribution is one small part of the broader readiness that supports the communities those crews serve.
Consistency and reliability are not created by one component or a catalog label. They depend on the complete access point: the latch and striker, hinge or slide, handle, motion control, seal, panel and supporting structure, installation, adjustment and maintenance. Each component must be matched to the opening's specific duty and validated as part of the installed system.
Ergonomics is part of that responsibility. Access hardware should be selected around the actual task and the people performing it, including how they reach, grip and operate an opening while wearing gloves or other protective equipment. The weight and movement of a door, cover or drawer, along with clearance, visibility, and potential pinch points, should also be considered.
When access hardware is thoughtfully selected for its specific duty and properly integrated into the completed vehicle, it can support more consistent, predictable interaction and help reduce unnecessary physical strain or exposure to avoidable hazards. It is one part of creating equipment that helps crews do demanding work effectively. Final component selection and completed-vehicle validation remain with the OEM and other qualified project resources.
That is why this day matters to Allegis. Our products are only one small part of a much larger emergency-response system, but we take pride in supporting the people whose work protects our communities. Sponsoring the children’s red helmets extends that commitment beyond the vehicle by supporting prevention education for families and recognizing the crews and emergency personnel who accept risk in service to others. When equipment, training, and prevention knowledge work together, communities are better prepared.
